Erica Ekstrand
Legal Assistant
Erica Ekstrand joined the Center for Individual Rights as a Legal Assistant in January 2026. She supports CIR’s constitutional litigation efforts with a passionate commitment to limited government, individual liberty, and the enduring protections guaranteed by the Constitution. Erica is drawn to constitutional litigation because it is where constitutional rights are defined and defended in real cases, and where the relationship between the individual and the state is tested most directly. She believes that protecting those rights is essential to preserving the freedoms that shape American life and our future.
Erica holds a Master’s in Public Policy from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Williams College. She also spent a full academic year studying at the University of Oxford and speaks four languages. A former NCAA Singles Champion, Erica plays tennis and is also a certified scuba diver.
