Levi Fiehler never imagined he would be fighting before the Supreme Court to protect his family’s home. Like many homes in rural Alaska, Levi’s is not accessible over land. It can only be reached by boat through a small beach. When neighbors sued to take ownership of the beach, the Alaska government rewrote the federal property lines that were established in the 1930s, denying the Fiehlers the only access point to their property.
Join the Center for Individual Rights and The Buckeye Institute to hear Levi’s story and learn how Alaska’s decision goes far beyond its constitutional power—and why it is increasingly likely that the Supreme Court will grant CIR’s petition in Fiehler v. Mecklenburg to correct this grave error.
